Benefits - Have your say!

A consultation from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

The DWP are trying to make the benefits system easier to use. They have written a big booklet available in Easy Read format about the changes.

The booklet says:
- what is wrong with the benefits system.
- what the Government think the benefits system should be trying to do.
- how the benefits system may be made better.
- what the Government will need to do to get a benerfit system for the 21st Century.

What can you do to help?

The Government wants people to tell them what they think about these changes.
The Government wants to hear from everyone, and it would be good if as many people with learning disabilities and their family carers responded to the consultation.

Here is the link to get the booklet,
''Changing the benefits system - what do you think?''

The consultation started on 30 July 2010. It will end on 1 October 2010.
