New Supported Employment Service

Learning Disability Supported Employment Service launched!

From October 1st 2010 the ‘You Trust’ has been awarded the contract to deliver a new supported employment service for adults with severe learning disabilities across Hampshire. This will be in partnership with our own In House Learning Disability Day Service from Adult Services, who will be providing one element of the new service framework.
All service users and families who currently receive a service from one of the existing 4 providers will be now be aware of the changes to their service – every effort has been made to ensure that there is a smooth transition to the new service.
If you have any questions regarding the new service please contact the lead officer: Strategic Commissioning Manager – Nigel Harvey-Whitten in the first instance.
As part of the new service we will be offering 3 elements: Work Preparation, sourcing jobs in our 5 local partnership board areas (LIGs) and support from a Job Coach.
We also plan to pilot the use of Telecare equipment for two purposes: independent travel to work and in work instructions as a Jobs Buddy.
We look forward to working withThe You Trust to deliver excellent job and work experience opportunities for adults with severe learning disabilities.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those service users involved in the selection of the new provider.
